As the oldest of the University's colleges, the College of Liberal Arts remains Mercer University's academic cornerstone. Located on Mercer's main campus in Macon, Georgia, the College is committed to the liberal arts tradition on which its reputation has been built – a place where intellectual growth, cultural understanding, moral discernment and civic responsibility foster the experience of a Mercer education. The College prepares its graduates for purpose-driven success and lifelong leadership. Faculty members provide a student-centered experience that integrates forward-thinking, creative pursuit, community engagement and cutting-edge research with personalized mentoring and collaboration that goes beyond the classroom.
The tradition of engaged-learning in the College of Liberal Arts goes back more than 40 years. Today, more than half of Mercer's undergraduate students are participating in service projects and making an impact on the global community. Mercer University's commitment to engaged-learning received national recognition from Campus Compact and The Princeton Review as one of only 81 educational institutions across the nation designated as a "College with a Conscience."
