Lynch-UganElizabeth Lynch and Sarah Ugan presented papers at the Southeastern Medieval Association's annual meeting in Little Rock during October of 2015.

Elizabeth presented a paper titled, "Psychological Interpretation of Medieval Dream Literature," while Sarah's talk was "'For which she wex al reed for shame': The Truth Behind the Blush in Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde."







Teal Baker St. Nicklaus was admitted to two PhD programs at the University of York as well as  the University of Kent. She has  won the Davies-Jackson Scholarship for all-expenses-paid study at St. John's, Cambridge!




  • Katie Montgomery (Creative Writing, '15) just started the MFA at Bennington (one of the top three in the country) having been awarded their top scholarship. Katie also published three poems in Verdad last year with the help of Sams writer Frank Gaspar.


  • A freshman in creative writing, Ashlyn Rebel, has a short story in the finals of the Agnes Scott Writer's Festival.


  • Sara Hughes (Creative Writing and Lit, '02) won the Adrienne Bond Award from Mercer University Press; her book of poems will come out in about 18 months.
