Asian Studies (ASN)

The Asian Studies Minor is designed to engage students in the study of the varieties of histories and cultures, which constitute today's Asia.It offers a broad array of courses, which illuminate the individual experiences of major historical and political Asian nation-states, and other key "actors" in a globalizing region. The program offers insights into Asia's collective consciousness derived from the study of Chinese language and script, poetry, art, religion, anthropology philosophy and science. The minor provides students with the tools needed to develop their understanding of the internal and external "strains" created by the dramatic transformations underway throughout Asia.
