The institute will meet on the campus of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Recently named one of the most beautiful campuses in America, Mercer is a lovely, although hot, place to spend the summer. We have made arrangements to accommodate housing and workshops on campus, and you will be able to enjoy Mercer's campus, the City of Macon, and several trips to sites in Georgia.

Participants will receive a stipend of $3900 to help defray housing, food, and travel expenses. Housing will be available in on-campus apartments for $875, and you may purchase an extensive meal plan for $688 or a limited meal plan for $279. During the institute, you may also use the University's parking, libraries, and amenities, including the workout facilities in the University Center, at no additional cost.

The institute will include several short day trips and an overnight trip to Savannah, Georgia. For some day trips, you will be asked to carpool, and we will provide transportation for others. We will arrange housing and transportation for the trip to Savannah.

Because the institute will be very busy, we do not encourage extended visits from guests or family members, and we cannot provide housing for visitors. If participants do have visitors, however, they may be lodged at the Hilton Garden Inn adjacent to campus.

Macon is located about an hour south of Atlanta on I-75 (map). Mercer's campus can be reached by using the Mercer University Drive, exit #163. Participants flying into Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport may use the Groome Transportation shuttle, which delivers to campus by request.

During downtime, you may explore the educational and cultural resources of Macon and Middle Georgia. The Convention and Visitors Bureau has a list of events in the city, the College Hill Corridor Commission organizes events in downtown, and College Town Macon has a student-oriented perspective on the city. Macon is also convenient to a number of state parks and historic sites.
